I like to think I don’t watch a great deal of television that my father would consider “rubbish” but who am I kidding I like crap soaps as much as the next girl. So here’s my top five rubbish television programmes. These are in order with 1 being my favourite rubbish programme.
5. The big bang theory – lets face it everyone’s given a nerd a go in their time.
4. The Hills – I discovered the Hills at the same time I learnt about The Hills (see below). I must admit though that The Hills has gone down in my opinion since Lauren left….
3. Keeping up with The Kardashians – my parents live in Dunedin and have recently splashed out and had Sky installed. When I was home over the summer holidays it was a tropical 10 degrees Celsius (did I mention it was summer?) so out of pure boredom I started watching the E channel and came across this programme. They really do epitomise crap TV yet I find myself strangely addicted.
2. Coronation Street – I remember cringing as a child when the opening theme song would come on and mimicking the music. Now I find myself addicted to this very show. Though my Mum did inform me about 5 years ago that I would probably enjoy Coro now as the writers were trying to appeal to “young people” by having all the characters sleep around. I’m sure Liz did’nt mean this to come out the way it did….
1.Home and Away – I’ll admit I am addicted to the Omnibus on a Sunday morning. Summer Bay seems like such a great place to live – everyone always has a hot boyfriend that Martha has skanked it up with half the town. They do tend to frown upon those who have more than two drinks so this wouldn’t be the place for me, I think I’d be better of in “the city”.
The one progamme I do draw the line at is Shortland Street. Though I think it’s great that NZ has a regular soap for our home grown actors I just can’t bring myself to watch a full episode without cringing or laughing.
Coro street? .. how old are you? My grandmother likes Coro ….

Ooh I love Home and Away! Such great drama! And you’re right, that skank Martha has done the whole town.
Sometimes if I’m bored I tune into Rock Of Love…so bad…..but so hilarious with their tears, tattoos and ‘I love Brent Michaels’ comments!
